We had planned a 5 week trip to take in the best sights of southern Germany including The Romantic Road and the Black Forest but unfortunately our beloved pooch took a serious turn health wise so we felt we couldn’t take her off to ‘the land of her fathers’. Although she has improved we felt that such a journey was not fair on her and we wanted access to UK vets if she required it. So we plumped to take our chances with the UK weather and are heading up to the Central Highlands in Scotland ( guaranteed βοΈ).
Our first stop last night was at the CMC site in Sedgwick near Kendal. A fabulous site in the heart of woodland with the Kent river running beside it. It’s so nice we decided to stop another night and head on up across the border tomorrow. Within walking distance is Sizergh Castle (NT). Sue completed her 10000 steps for the day by walking there, and round the gardens, whilst Peter ‘dog sat’ and began his reading for his OU course. It was just a shame the house was shut – we misread the info in the handbook ( you’d think we would have the hang of it by now π). Off to Moffat in the morning.
